Innovation for SMEs

2008 APEC SME Workshop for Technology Transfer, whose theme was “Innovation and Technology Transfer Services for SMEs: the Role of Intermediary Organizations.” This workshop was jointly organized by the APEC SME Innovation Center (APEC SMEIC) and the International Network for SME Association (INSME). It was hosted by the Korea Small & Medium Business Administration (SMBA) and the Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA).

The workshop, which aimed at establishing strategies for successful technology transfer of SMEs and developing their abilities as well as helping them to turn technology into business value, and provide SMEs and intermediaries with an opportunity to share experience on innovation and technology transfer in terms of technology diagnosis and evaluation, strategies for developing technologies, financing, patent strategy, building network, etc. through advanced service techniques and success cases on technology transfer of European SMEs.

Link: http://www.apec-smeic.org/ 2nd OECD Conference of Ministers responsible for SMEs was held in Istanbul, Turkey on 3-5 June 2004 with a theme of "Promoting Entrepreneurship and Innovative SMEs in a Global Economy : Towards a More Responsible and Inclusive Globalisation". Pdf 241K In that conference, a Parallel Ministerial Workshops with the following themes were held: - Entrepreneurship and SME Innovation - Tools for SME Innovation - SMEs in the Global Economy - Enhancing the role of SMEs for Development.
