KMOWL conducts a single, comprehensive research programme which covers the organizational mind concept and emphasizes 3 research effort areas:

 

  • The first broad area is theory development covering the definition of a framework that can be used to map the structure of the organizational mind in real settings.

 

  • The second research effort area is method development that can be used to guide organizational interventions to improve the process of knowledge management in real settings. These methodologies will guide the study the organizational mind structure and expression, the evaluation of its performance, the diagnosis of dysfunctions in its various dimensions and the definition of interventions required to improve the organizational abilities of intelligence, learning and creativity.

 

  • The third research area is the development of information technology applications to support healthy organizational mental processes. This includes software to automate the method described above and computer-based systems to (i) enhance collective perception, cognition and action, (ii) measure the performance of collective mental processes and phenomena, (iii) detect dysfunctions and suggest correction measures.
